Alexander had just finished his last class of the week. He liked her job, he liked her University and he liked her life. Since he returned to England from Calcuta nothing important was happened.

When he entered to her study all in it was in order, he put his book in the table and he walked to the windown, it was going to rain and he was forgot his umbrella at home.

It was a dark, cold and raining evening of winter. Arthur and his wife, Sarah, was talking about India. They was sitting near a fire in the dinning rom of their great mansion. 

Both was trying to speack funny about their new lives but England was a cold and bored country, they had to admit that they are not as happy as they thougt.

"We still alive, and this is the important" Sarah thinks about this with frecuency. For that reason, she is trying to keep in touch with the rest of the english society and to be a normal life.

Sarah was sitting next to the fireplace, her head resting over Arthur´s shoulder.  She had taken a book with her, in order to read for a while before going to sleep. Nevertheless, the book was still lying on her lap, closed. She was staring at the fireplace, quiet, really quiet, thoughtful.

After a while, she sighed, and turned her head towards Arthur. She had always got on well with her husband, even in those days were they were just friends, in their early childhood. She had always trusted in him. And that was the reason why she used to share all her thoughts with him. And this time, it wouldn´t be different.

She left the book on the sofa, next to her, and sat up, looking at him- Arthur, my darling.. You didn´t talk about your day as we were having dinner... - that was the way she chose to start the conversation- Aunt Margaret finally took all our time... - she added, referring maybe to the previous conversation they had had at the table. - So tell me then, my dear.... how was your day? Did you had much work in the company? she asked him, with a charming smile and a loving and caring expression. There were some issues she wanted to talk about with him, their lives there in Britain among them, but her mother had always told her that the best way to start an important conversation was with a trivial question. And Arthur knew her well enough to understand what she was doing and why she was acting this way.

She waited for his answer, patiently. She wasn´t in any hurry... If there was anything she absolutely adored, it was spending time with her husband and, above all, the way he used to talk, the way they could talk about any kind of topic, without any restrictions.

I really love this man. - she suddenly thought, while she was staring at him. And that was the last thought that crossed her mind before getting his answer.

Arthur closed his eyes, and leave out the air in his lungs. He cant avoid smile when sense her wife's skin over him. Arthur looks to her, taking a moment to answer.

Please, my sweet... If you repeat the name of you Aunt Margareth one more time, i will cry. I promise. This women can put out from me the worst... But i dont wanna speak about she. Please.

Arthur knows his wife, and her question is the door to a big and deep conversation. But... he loves her, and he wanna continue her game. We ever have much work, above all when Jhon cant remember where leave the contability notes. Maybe he may leave the work, and enjoy his life. However, the news from India are great. Rebellion has been crushed, and the new packages from oversear are coming jet.

That winter are worst than other, and they are used to Indian's cliamte. Arthur get up, not before gives a kiss in sarah's hair, and walks to corner's room. He had taken a firewood, and throws them to fire, returning to sofa, with his wife.

I hate that eternal winter, and this wheather. I start to think return to englad its a bad decision. He knows what are thinking his wife. India was good, but now are dangeruos. And he only think in her health, and her welfare.

He looks around, when he be secure no one are looking, he move the hand to Sarah's chin, and take she to him, giving a kiss.

And you, my sweety, how was your day?

The fire was hot and nice. Over it was raining, the wind was blowing with strong. It was similar at a lament, or a cry. However Arthur and Sarah was in safe... or perahps no.

The couple was talking about their daily routine in England when, suddenly a noise came to over. Both, look around and all seem in calm...

Sarah laughs, when Arthur talks about Aunt Margaret- Ok, ok... I got it... Don´t worry, honey... No more Aunt Margaret. And she continues listening to him while he´s talking about John and the company- Poor John... I think he´s getting old... Just like everybody else.  He works too much... - she says, but she suddenly makes a pause just to point something out- You work too much too.... Maybe you two should go on holidays...  - this is her suggestion, when he talks about his situation- If rebels have been crushed it may be a great opportunity to go to India again... Don´t you think so? - it´s what she suggests, on the sly. And, at this point, she looks at him as he´s standing in front of the fireplace. She stands up and walks towards him- Arthur, my loving.... -she just stops, in front of him, looking in his eyes, with a little smile on her lips- Can I ask you something? - she says, and now she doesn´t even answer his question about her day. And she only needs to look at him to know that he wants her to make the question, so she continues talking, while she caresses his face carefully, lovingly- Darling... Are you happy here in... - she starts saying but then, they hear a noise. She stops talking and knits her brows- Eh... What was it? -she first has a look around and them she just looks at her husband, confused, waiting for his reaction.

No more Aunt Margaret He repeats with her, and smiles a bit, in response to her. Yes, he works too much. Since he lost his child, the work is his last way to scape from live's miserys. And he takes a second when she said he work hard. He doesnt think this, and denies. He takes air, and looks she.

My sweety, we cant retorun to india. Rebelds has been defeated, but, who can promise to us that it wont repeat? No... I dont wanna risk again our lives.... And he will answers when he lisents that noise. Can be Helen in danger?

Helen?  Helen is the housekeeper, a old woman what serves in family since he was a child. He looks to she, and puts a hand over her hand. Wait here.

Arthur goes to wall, and takes the hunt shootgun from it. He looks if it be charged, and open the door.

 HELEN? ARE YOU OK? Arthur shoutes

Since he lost his child..., she repeats in her mind and, suddenly, a different thought crosses her mind this time- Talking about children, maybe it´s time you told him the news, Sarah... she thinks, as he´s talking about coming back to India and she uncounsciosly puts her hand on her belly, with a tiny smile. Then she comes back to Earth, and she´s about to answer something related to their safety when Arthur stands up, and takes the shotgun.

-Be careful, darling. - maybe still some remains from India, and from the dangerous times they lived there. She also stands up, although, following his advice, she waits there, in the living-room, listening carefully.

Arthur was out of the room and Sarah stayed alone with her memories... Minutes pass and her husband didn´t came. But is Sarah really alone?. She was afraid and began to ask from Arthur without any answer.

Sarah tryed to be calm, Arthur would came soon... he was stay in England no in India...

Arthur went out to the dining room with a gun in his pocket, the strange sound coul be made by the housekepper or culd be not?... Arthur was going to be nervous. All the house was dark and cold, and the rest of the personal server was out. He couldn´t find Helen, and he decided to return with Sarah... but suddenly he eared the same sound... It was similar to walks, and these walks came to the upstairs...

Sarah looks around, getting more and more nervous as she realises that Arthur is taking too long to come back. She walks around the room, going from one place to another, and constantly looking around... She can´t help feeling something strange, as if she wasn´t alone there. But it may just be a feeling, after all... Who is going to be there?

Please, Arthur, come back... - she says to herself, her hand on her belly again. Now she´s worried, not only due to the situation, but also about the baby she´s got inside. She hasn´t still told Arthur a single word about her pregnancy, and she feels guilty about it. She will tell him as soon as he comes back. She has just decided it.

As minutes pass, she finally decides that she´s going to look for him- Arthur?- she asks, just opening the door without crossing it, waiting for a reply- Arthur, darling, are you ok?

After walk and walk all over the house, Arthur decided return with Sarah. Arthur opens the shotgun, when he returns with Sarah, when he hears again that sound, and the walk, he only thinks in Sarah's security, and returns with celerity to rest room, where Sarah waits he.

He doesnt know whats that sound, but he cant leave alone Sarah if someone be in the house.

Arthur return to the room who was waiting Sarah... but when he arrived, Sarah was going out.

Sarah began to walk. The house was very big and there are many rooms. Sarah was living there few days ago, so she didn´t know all the sites of the mansion.

She up the stairs and suddenly she lost into the third floor... Where was Arthur? She began to shout the name of her husband, without suscess. 

Sarah, finally decided opened a door, to his surprise she discovered a room, but not only a simple room. In there, there was many toys un the floor, like a child has just to playing in it.

Arthur walks to room, and opens the door, furrow the brow and put down the weapon.

He looks around, looking for Sarah when he doesnt see her.

As soon as her hand touches the wooden door, it is as if her heart just froze. She tries to remember this room but, she just can´t remember it. She would swear that she had been in all the rooms at least once, but it´s clear that there are parts of the manor she hasn´t visited yet.

What´s this? Children toys? It must be a joke... - She now feels terrified- Arthur, darling.... Are you there? Please... -she looks inside the room, just holding her breathing. Her voice is trembling now and she´s wondering now if leaving the room wasn´t such a good idea, after all.
