The sunlight was so bright that you had to close your eyes. When you could open them, a big prairie was in front of your eyes. The sun was shining and the warm summer wind was stroking your face and the sound of seawaves was arriving at your ears.
There were a small hill in front of you, with weird black stones which were standing like dark teeth.
You looked each other and, without speaking, all the children walked to the mountain.
Actualy, the teeth were statues made on black stone, statues of men with lifeless gaze and seriuous face. From there you could see the sea, a ruffled and dark sea near the hill. Even you could smell the salt.
“Look: isn’t it Fluff, the Princess’ cat?" Asked Abigail, pointing at a statue in the very summit of the mountain. “Well, I think I’ve seen it here!”, she said seeing nothing.
She began to find it on the tall grass, madless. “I’d swear I’ve seen it”, she repeated.
At first I didn't see anything, but after a few seconds i could open my eyes. The place we were didn't seem so terrible as I had imagined. Although, the statues were a bit strange. But so far, anything frightening.
Then Abigail says she has seen the princess' cat. "Maybe he has followed us..." I say, but then i look where Abigail was looking. "I can't see anything."
"It was here" said the girl, "I've seen it here, near this statue" she exclaimed while she was pointing to the statue.
Yes, maybe the cat followed us, and perhaps it's even protecting us... I hope. Let's take a closer look, then - says Bruce, while approaching the statue Abigail pointed at.
I'd like to investigate the area, to see if the cat's really there.
"Protecting us? Well, who knows. It wouldn't be the most strange thing that has happened today." I say, and then I get closer to the statue and search for it. After a while, I say: "May I try my scissors with this statues?"
Odd thought Esteban after the "traveling" he had experimented from the castle to the beach and the man statues; but considering all, not really a surprises, the dreams didnt obey any logic you try to impose them.
¿The cat? asked confused, I was pretty sure he was laying over the princess shrugged walking closer to the said statue to have a better look of it; touching the surface of the statue to see what material is it made of.
All the childs have their own ideas and he didnt see reason to say nothing about then; after all they were in a realm of dreams and possibilities...how cool is that?
Go ahead said to them I will check the statue, see what are this curious things....
I got to the statue where Abigail, Esteban and Bruce were looking for the cat. I took my scissors out and searched for a good point to cut. The chin seemed easy to reach without climbing the statue. I obtained a rock the size of my hand. "Maybe it will be useful in a future..."
I had to close my eyes for a few seconds, in order to get used to that amount of light I was recieving. We were near the sea, or that's what I thought at first. It was right though. Those statues were quite scary and intimidating but I decided to be firm with my feelings and walked among the others. Soon they started searching for the cat and Henry used his scissors for the first time; I didn't know why was I there and what they were doing, so I decided to stay quiet and wait to see what would happen soon.
-What are we supposed to do here? Asked Tommy.... look for a cat?
-That is not the most intelligent idea in my opinion... He thought, but he didn't want to seem rude, so he joined the other children on their quest.
You went close to the statue. It's dark and tall, and when you touched it, it was also rough. It represented a man with long face and ears and big nose.
You bent down and looked down to the statue base. After moving away the grass, you could see it was engraved something like a message, but the time had almost erase it.
You looked for the cat, but it vanished. The grass was so tall and it was easy to hide in it.
Shh! - Nicholas hissed - I hate that cat. I hate any cat - he murmured to himself.
Having nothing else to do or a better idea he started to follow the other children but halted when Henry's scissors cut the rock.
Give me one like that - Nic holas asked angrily - or the half of it at least - he asked more softly - I'll help you if you do.
Prior to the previous scene, when walking after the other children and before the dialogue with Henry, Nick uses the badges to look through them (as some kind of binoculars) to look around, to the statues, the sea, and the cat.
Does he see anything?
Through the badges you saw the meadow, but nothing special.
But, when you looked at the statue at the peak, it seemed to shine.
Nicholas looked intimidating while saying that. I didn't know what to answer. "But you already have your own gift... And maybe if they get broken I will never be able to be used again..." I didn't really thought that would convince him, but I had to try.
"It seems like we won't find the cat... What if we think about where to go now?" I asked before Nicholas could continue arguing with me.
Maybem just mAYBE, we shouldn't go around cutting a breaking stuff from this place... Who knows if they're magical or something, and even can fight back? - said Bruce to the other children.
We might as well be VERY careful when walking around... We don't know what we might find!
Ey people said Esteban in voice loud enough to everyone to ear him there is some kind of letters here I dont understand them, can any of you give look please?.
Esteban looked at the words, iluminating them with the light of his pendant; it was a gift from aggy and perhaps it could have a lot of uses like the swiss knife of his bro full of things.
"I'm sorry. You're right. I should have been more careful. Next time I'll think twice." I answered to Bruce. Then I went where Esteban was.
Oh, it seemed like the mirror and the pendant were going to be useful soon. I wondered when my artifact was going to be useful, but I had no idea. They were almost arguing, that excited child screaming around made my head hurt! I closed my eyes smiling softly, while the others kept talking about where to go.
