Wow, so many players (participants)!

Unfortunately, I won´t be around in the next few weeks, so please behave and have fun. I´m sure we can find ways to learn and improve English here, and we´ll see how we can adapt the workshop for different levels.

Mooneyes: (...) saecel, your English is American English, so I would like say that if there are people who want to pass Cambridge Exams, Cambridge would rather British English than American; and examinators could take some words incorrectly, (...)

For those who are taking an exam, it´s good advice to be extra careful with the American spelling. As so much content in the Net is done for (and by) America, it´s easy to get mixed up. I was lucky when I was studying my degree, the teacher allowed both, BUT you could not mix. That is, if you wrote "color" and so, you better do everything in American English. And there is a bit more to it than just spelling.

My advice is to focus on the British English when writing, and I guess the Cambridge Exam has to be British English (I´ve never done one of those so sorry). Maybe in the future I´ll put some info in "Resources" regarding the differences, I must have some tables and charts somewhere.

^^ English people are so egocentric that they need put the first person in capital letters: I, I, I, I" >> Obviously you are the most important person for yourself, without you none and nothing exist, id est, the "Cogito ergo sum" (I´m back in time to 1596) when René Descartes, French and not English by the way, threw this to the table, philosophically speaking of course :).

Uauuu, Sofia ^^ Thank you for the information *.* I didn't know, and it is so interesting *.* Thanks :DDD

Hi everyone! I'm back to the office, and back to Umbría too! So, thanks everyone for getting in, but special thanks to Tingwe and Mooneyes, they are fantastic people!

I usually speak (or write) some random expressions, but I hope I can improve my English too. I've been in Oxford for three months, get my B2 Exam for English and many other things, but I get wrong many many times.

avoiding speaking German, despite the fact that I am mildly competent on with/at it and live in a country where it's the official language.

+ a gazillion.

I hear you there brother. I despise German despite my current B1-B2 level and despite listening to it every single freaking day here in Deutschschweiz... and don't even get me started with Swiss German.... awful, awful, awful.

I always suspected German is the Black Tongue of Mordor. What with Tolkien having fought in WWI and all that. Germans themselves seem to suspect most people hate their language, which is why they tend to be supportive and telling you that "your German is very good", even if it´s not.

But yeah. It was a hard pill to swallow, studying it 4 years and moving here only to find out I completely hate speaking it.

(I'm Ryan, Dylan and DeAndre, by the way)
