Thank you for the explanation, it's much clearer now. Sorry for my mistakes :(

Currently you are splitted in two: Keyran and Mallory are in the camp and Hal and Sam are chasing the track of the hostiles. I have modified your posts, changing the receivers of them, in order to show that reality.

OK. So Hal&Sam are separated and doing recon, and Major Paul Davis and Captain Kelly Latimer are at the camp. Plus Keeran and Mallory.

From the camp is impossible to watch the gunfire.

OK, I thought only radio communications were jammed. Now I get it.

I cannot modify my post, so Master could you please remove the paragraph beginning with:

Before anyone could reply, ...

Since I cannot hear the gunfire?

All clear about the EM field that afects others EM fields and fisical waves like sound :)... but, sorry one question.

What about... if there are two people one in front of the other, but this EM field is between both. They can see each other, but they can't hear one to another, are they?

Just one more question. What side of the filed is the camp, and where is the recon team? I understand that they are north from the camp, and so, the camp should be south of the field if we are not listening them, right?

Sam you can think about the monolith as an  EM filter that intercepts some frequencies. As light is not intercepted you can see whatever it happens at the other side.

Keiran, you are bellow the monolith close to the door... here you are a more explanatory picture about your location

The "straight" black line is the boundary of the monolith's effect.

The white stars are claymore mines.

The recon mission is out of this map... if you are in the camp your vision is limited to that 2x2 km square unless trees or other obstacles limit your vision.

My apologies for all the inconveniences if I didn't explain clearly. Please, guys, if you have any doubt just ask me.. the only dumb question is the never done one.

more doubts?

Thank you for the explanation. I think I get it now. Just to recap: Davis and Latimer are in the quarry area. Or their last known location is that way. Mallory and Keiran are the only members of the expedition at the camp. Jenkins and Smith were doing recon, came back and went again to look for Davis and Latimer? At some point instructions were given to contact Earth about reinforcements, correct?

master please delete the paragraph about the gunfire. I will post around lunchtime (I never can post properly from my cell phone)

You're almost right Mallory. The time line is:

Davis and Latimer did a inspection on the blue mineral zone of the quarry

Smith saw a flashing light that could be a gunfire

Smith ran to the zone and send signals to Jenkins

Jenkins entered the jamming zone and they inspected the attack zone finding evidences that point to an attack without casualties.

Jenkins went back and ask for reinforcements

Jenkins and Smith followed the footprints

Jenkins and Smith were ambushed

at the camp:

Mallory has discovered the origin of the tattoo

Mallory and Keiran are arguing about asking or not reinforcements

I am right?

Uuuu, so PRO... A personal question:

How much do you charge for RPG Master "Work"? and how much do you pay for it?

Really I don't think that make money with this It's going to be a good idea. It's like Rugby and Football, the second one loose all its wonderfullness and humanity becouse the money. But if you think about it, Master a Campaing or a one-shoot it's a lot of work.

I don't think you can put a value on the countless hours it takes to prepare games and stories. Or to play. I personally enjoy directing at least as much as playing, so I don't consider it "work".

But a big thumbs up for the director, nice work overall with the game.

I don't know anyone who is making money directing an RPG... if you know someone please send me his/her contact XDD

I worked for 2 hours for a 4 seconds sound... it worths it? I don't know. I could just tell you what was happening.. but mounting the sound of your gun, with the blasting sound of a jaffa spear was challenging and funny for me.

Being a master is hard, some times is worst than a pain in the neck, others you feel as your favourite Sci-fi writer. There are good days and bad days, but the most important is that your players have fun and that you have fun with them.

I don't know if it's a good simil but it's like the open source software. People do it because it's fun, because they want to learn something doing useful things..... or in my case because I want to practice my English and if you get bored I gonna write boring essays for a long time XDD

By the way, very nice post Mallory... I think that we are going to made redudant Teacher Sam... :)

I think that it's a cultural issue. Spaniards, or latins,  don't want to pay for anything that they can achieve freely and that's one reason for our great degree of piracy. On the other hand, americans are more used to micropay for these services. What's more expensive, paying 10 dollars for cable TV or waste your time looking for TV shows on torrent or emule?...In Spain money is money but in the States time is money :)

Talking about the new NPC, Jean Valjean, it's only a small tribute to Les Miserables. Any resemblance to reality is pure coincidence ;)

Sólo para el director

I was about to write my post, but I realized I'm not sure how are we calling home. Is it a radio or something? Where is it located? I might be interested into having my conversation alone ;)

You're thinking about cheating Mallory...tsk tsk... bad doctor, very bad doctor :)

Well, the dial-home procedure is this:

1) Use the stargate to establish a connection to Earth.

2) and then you can use your walkie or use the camera and mic installed in both MALP probes.

so, you can use voice or image or both of them as you wish, but firstly you need to call Earth.

The radio signal is in a specific frequence to ease the communication with all the team members....

or....you can cross the gate... but at Earth you will have to pass lots and lots of health checks...and a long quarantine ;)

If you have any question feel free to ask :)
