There was a great song from Catalan pop group Sau that used to its full extent the fact that in Catalan "Para, noia!" means "Stop, girl!" whereas "Paranoia" means what we all know.

Pity I couldn't find it neither in GoEar nor in YouTube.

Notas de juego

Hi Dave and Hal,
I received the Umbria standard code from my first master in this web, which is as follows::

Narrative, description
speak
Whisper
Thoughts
SHOUT

I hope it helps.

Yeah that looks much easier than messing around copy and pasting color codes.

Cheers, Hal

Funny: all posts are doubled.

The maintenance technicians must be playing with the server. Better not to post until it's safe to.

You're not doubled, Jordi! Maybe it's safe now.

Hi, kabukiman. Hope you enjoy our play.

Hi Dave,
I've just met a lady in the chat room. She is newbie in this web allthough she knows how to play rpgs.
She is looking forward to be playing soon at this web and she is able to speak some English allthough not as good as you or Airborne, of course.
Do you want her to play Camilla Vasquez `s character? Shlould I tell her to contact you or you prefer to play Camilla vasquez as a non player character?
Please reply soon ;),
Lorena

Set her up to play Vasqez! No problem. I´ll let you guys go in "blind" on the mission... ha ha!

Tell her to PM me or apply at the game. Alternatively give me her on site name and I´ll add her myself.

Btw. He he in Spanish is written as je je, right? I read some posts ending in ja ja ja or je je je and guessed it was like laughter...

Her name is "darkqueen". She should be writting you soon.

Yes, jajaja means laughing in spanish, like hahaha in english. "h" sounds deaf in our language, but our "j" sounds somewhat harder than "h" in English, or like "ch" in german.

;)

Hmm, like 'Allo, 'allo for Hello, hello in the UK parody of WW2-themed TV-series Secret Army!

Yep, and like 'enry 'iggins instead of Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady. =)

Great work, Dave and players. I'm still watching from the shadows.

The pace is not very high. I hope that is not a problem for you guys?

Regarding the mission call: Everyone on this mission have been selected for their skills and have been contacted by their immediate superiors. Some of you have worked together in the past some haven´t.

The entire message from your superiors was to get to the Waterfront bar at the UN base and wait for further instructions at 2100.

I´ll add a chat for this game so we can talk more easily and maybe even speed up the game sometimes.

If nothing else we can chat away for a while about nothing in particular.

One thing I like to have here on Umbria is the option to see who of my players are online in a list at the bottom of the screen...

I suggest we see each other at 1800 GMT at the chat and see who´s on. Just to test it.

OK, I'll try to be there and then. GMT is one hour less than Continental, I take.

In the meantime, the fuck*** duplicating bug of a couple days ago did away with one of my posts and I'll be damned if I know how, beacuse I didn't delete anything.

I usually work in the afternoons until around 22:00 or 22:30 in the evenings.
That means it would be quite difficult to be here at 18:00, sorry.
I use to connect from 23:00 or midnight.

Some Sundays should be easier for me.

We can always do a 2400 gig next weekend. It may not be in-character but just a chance to get acquainted.

To fulfill the cliche of online gamers, I should be a man, an obese 45-year old IT-consultant playing a strapping barbarian with bulging muscles and a two-handed sword. Or even more probably - a huge breasted amazon!

On the other side of the spectrum I could be ill in some way. That, tragically is no joke, I see the possibilities IT has to people with bad luck or circumstance. In my few years of forum gaming I´ve met a fair share of players and keepers who have had this as the only way of being able to play RPGs.

So, what am I then?

A 42 year old ICT-teacher. Four children, 5-19 and married. Drives a Renault Megane and SAAB900. Not  too far away from the cliche then....

Cheers!

Sorry, I finally couldn't attend the chat, I was busy fighting to the death with Adobe InDesign.
