Sneaking in through the outer fences surrounding the immense extensions of the palace gardens wasn’t hardly as difficult as you would have imagined. There were only some spare outposts scattered through the perimeter, and none of them seemed to be manned. Not really a surprise though. By the look of it, it is clear the outer fence is not a very smart strategic defense post, so probably the enemy has prepared the defenses and fortifications closer to the palace.
Still, you decide to move quickly and silently through the yards, orchards and gardens that comprise the extension between the fence and the marvelous building that suddenly shows up just in front of you after climbing a slow mound.
The Palace is astonishingly beautiful. Not by its dimensions, since its size is not impressive, but by the polishness of its white walls. Refracting light from the sun makes it shine like a lone star in a moonless night. The walls are made, or covered, with something pretending to be white jade… or perhaps they are made of white jade. In any case, you can’t prevent a drop of jaw of pure awe as you see the beauty in front of you.
But presently you start focusing in your mission. You are approaching the palace from the West. From this advantageous position you can watch the front and back entrances from where the alpha and beta teams will approach the building respectively. There, patrolling and guarding the façades, you see four mercenaries, two swordsmen and two spearmen, at the main entrance, and seven, three swordsmen, three spearmen and one archer, at the back.
You know that, as soon as the distraction begins, some of the guards at the back entrance, if not all, will run towards the main one and the main façade.
Things must go the proper way. Thought Flamefinger while he was staring at the place.
They are a lot of people.
Said to Dalfgan.
Maybe our aid will be needed soon. Let's stay alert.
I'm waiting for Dalfgan to say 'Hi' and I'll move the action here :)
No rush, eh? I am just updating so you guys don't get the impression I forgot about you, which I didn't ;)
It seems all the action is already in motion down there.
From your position hiding in the bushes to the west of the Palace, you have the advantage of witnessing all the events that quickly happen down there.
At the front door, the oldest brother and the two women, Baster and Ilesys, quickly dispatch the guards that stand there and head inside.
Meanwhile, an alarm has started somewhere inside the Palace, and most of the soldiers stationed are now running towards the front door.
Two remained there that are quickly taken care off by the bard, the child, Elaria and the step sister, who sneaks inside while the other three fight the remaining guards.
The two brothers that accompany you look at each other, then back at you with a silent question written in their eyes: what should we do now?
Sorry Kholer, Dalfgan leaves the party. You are alone now, so we can do as you please :)
Things look good. said Kholer staring at the palace.
He looked Dalfgan next to him, who had a strange face. ¿Was he frightened by the situation? Who knows. Anyway it was time to move.
Lets go down to the rear entrance. Maybe they don`t need us but here i feel like a scarecrow. Time for action.
And he started moving, letting Dalfgan and the other two join him. We must be careful. We are not a great force, but if we strike we must be deadly. Let`s try to move silently.
We move to the back entrance to avoid somebody fleeing. We try to move in silence to get there in surprise.
You approach the back entrance of the palace through the opposite side from which the guards posted there are running towards the main gate.
It doesn't take long to get there, and since the outer defenses of the palace seem to be concentrated in the South side, it is not difficult to sneak to the Northern part.
Once you get there, only the bodies of the spearmen finished by your companions remain.
There is no one else to be seen around...
- We should wait here and prevent anyone from taking the beta squad on their backs. Thus we will be able to cover their retreat as soon as they come back with the scriptures and... - starts Gery once you get close to the door.
- Are you nuts?! - interrupts Hamond - We must get inside and help the others. I am certain there will be magic wards and foes that our friend here would have to take care of - he turns to face Kholer and smiles at him
- Surely the others aren't capable enough of handling magic doings, don't you think? - he asks Kholer.
No time for discussions. A bad choice is better than not chosing. We are getting inside, carefully and avoiding frontal attacks but we are going into the battle for good.
He took a pair of carefull steps and looked the men in the eyes to see if anyone said anything more. Then he started to move to the battle.
Creo que la construccion de alguna frase no es la correcta.
Gery shakes his head repeatedly.
- But you both saw the bunch of guards heading to the main entrance, surely there are others that will come here as well from the surroundings looking for the reason why the alarm burst on! -
He calms himself a little before adding.
- No. I'm staying here and will clear and secure a path for the retreat. After all, we will have to get out of here somehow. -
It is settled then, Hammond and you will get inside, following the footsteps of the Beta squad.
Roll Initiative
Ok, do as you please. Clearing a retreat way is a good idea.
And Kholer went back to his goal with Hamond. Maybe in the way back they could get Gery's corpse. Standing alone was a suicide.

He desglosado porque no sabía si era necesario. Si sumas los dados da 15.
Deciding to pursue your mission objective first and secure your escape later, you decide to follow Hammond inside. You walk to the door which opens easily after pushing the handle.
Once you put foot on the marbled titled decorated floor that stands in the middle of the welcome back hall of the Palace, something happens. At first is just a distant hiss, like the sound of the ocean from the top of a cliff. But then it becomes louder and louder until it explodes with a fwooo-like sound at the same time as a huge black endless pit opens magically in the middle of the room floor.
Fortunately, your reflexes were quick enough and you all were alert enough to avoid falling to the magic emptiness that roars now lonely in the middle of the floor while you three stand by the wall holding to frames, stands and chandeliers.
After what looks like an eternity, the floor closes upon itself again and the magic trap disappears as suddenly and mysteriously as it showed up.
From where you are now, surrounding the back hall, there are several possibilities where to continue in your search for the scriptures: Exploring the nearby rooms at both sides of the back hall, taking a snail stair at the back of the hall up... or taking it down.
We must let no enemies or clues in our back. Let's look carefully into the nearby rooms. But we go together to avoid being surpassed.
And Kholer gets next to the first door taking the handle carefully. He opens it whithout coming inside waiting for possible attacks. When he finnally goes into the room walks bended down.
That way they explore all rooms before exploring further.
Without hesitation you slam the door open.
In a sudden burst, a cloud of humidity and cold water midst get out of the new room forcing you all to close your eyes slightly.
When the midst starts fading away, you see this new area of the house is a greenhouse. Through a clever mechanisms, several clay jars hanging from the ceiling are watering constant and regularly the sets of plants that completely fill the room. The humidity inside is huge, and the midst gets thicker and thicker through the middle of the greenhouse, making it impossible to see the other side. Might the others be somewhere here at the other end of the greenhouse?
Roll Initiative (1d6, diff = your Ini attribute. Success if roll is equal or less), Leadership (same but with 2d6 combined) and Toughness (same as Ini).
A greenhouse. When Kholer sees the plants he automatically thinks ...
could it be possible?
But soon he remember himself the flower he was looking for could not life in a greenhouse.
Let's look before we go ahead.
And carefully and quietly he walks ahead.
Before I can tell you what's going to happen, rolls please :)
Done!
