Athar is divided into two big sub-continents, Southern Athar and Northern Athar. The Ember Domain is located in Northern Athar, and there isn’t much information from the south.

In Southern Athar, Krassia has a totalitarian regime, Krassians see anything that isn’t human as less, with different degrees of violence regarding race. Elfs, Dwarves, Halflings and races that look more humanoid are employed as butlers, maids, and servants in general, while creatures as Firbolgs, Fauns, Simiah, and any race that resembles animals or has animal-like features, are enslaved and have a harder life in consequence. 

In Northern Athar there are five countries: 

Torvakai, a nation to the North, The Kozar Empire, at East, The Ember Dominion, the biggest country, southwest of the continent, and Veithralis, the city state that keeps Krassia at bay, and has been able to avoid any major conflict to erupt, at least for now, between Southern and Northern Athar.

There are rumors of another continent east of Athar, it’s called The Veil by sailors who claim its existence but it hasn’t been proved yet.
