Lisa Watersdown watches as eight figures exit a black helicopter. An officer barks some orders at them and they start marching towards Station 10. From what she can see from the window, it´s three women and five men. But it´s hard to tell as they all wear cold weather parkas. Well, at least some variant of a parka. Probably UN-issue.

The message icon keeps blinking on her workstation in the mess hall.

Fortunately the warmth is getting back to her after the brisk walk to check the lights outside.

Finally some company. Armed company but at least company.

Taking point of the procession Taverner tugs the scarf tighter. It´s bleeding cold here. How can anyone work in these conditions?

Vasqez is thight behind Taverner to avoid the gale tormenting the team.

Watersdown watches as a vehicle moves out of the heli´s cargo bay. A snowmobile. A man exits the snow vehicle and enters the heli. It takes off with a torrent of snow torrenting at the UN team.

Molotov, McArthur and Bishop soldier on and keep good speed behind the geologist and the electronics specialist.

Frye pats her side pocket. Good the DS is intact. Great plan to use a piece of the thermal blanket from the first aid kit to shield the equipment from the cold. Can´t wait to get inside to see what gear they have on the station.

Cursing at the weight of the flamethrower on his back, Gusmäo gives away a crooked smile. It will serve well when they complain about the snow and ice. I know it will come in handy. Zajic will make sure to ask the contact about a helicopter to use for their extraction. Or are we supposed to use this old heap? She looks at the old Hercules transport.

********************'

From afar a set of eyes follows the UNSF team. Cpt Hawkins hunkers down and answers his comms.

Notas de juego

To actually for the characters to notice they are being watched I need a POW check. Roll 1d100 and get below your POW score and you might notice something...

*******************

At this point I´m going with one thread for all. I can tweak the visibility when needed.

*******************

The plan here is to meet up and get over to the oil rig and investigate. You may divide up the team or keep together.

I initially intended to move the scene to the oil rig at once. But this might be better. To catch up and make a plan.

The UNSF team members scutter up the stairs to Station 10. Taverner relieved that it was a short trekk is first man inside.

Inside the sole attendant of Station 10 awaits the team. Lisa Watersdown, according to her red guide suit´s embroided name patch. The large room is well insulated and when the door shuts after the last member, the wind is effectively diminished to a faint hum. The aroma of hot coffee is in the air.

Last inside is Helena Zajic.

When checking the surroundings before entering Station 10, Helena spots a reflection from a spot 500 meters due south of their position. Something not made of snow is moving out there. Could it be another team? A sentry from the Station?

She stops and watches more closely, brings up her high grade binoculars and zooms in on the area.

Yes, there´s definitely a thermal reading in that quadrant. She takes a snap with the digital built in cam. This needs to be looked in to. Might be possible to use a sat cam to get an image from one of the geostat tin cans in the sky?

This thing might get hot even before reaching the rig.

Pocketing the binoculars, Zajic enters Station 10 a couple of seconds after Vasqez.

Cpt Hawkins just about manages to crouch down behind a snow dune as the last of the members of the UNSF-team looks in his direction. He picks up the radio. Give it to me. He commands.

Over the radio Crow leader reports back for the first time since contact was lost. Got a major mishap here, Sir. Elevator´s got all fucked up. Some weird shit is happening over here... We´re taking hits from some unknown enemy, Sir. They´re using heat seeking projectiles. Like some freeze gun or some shit. Three men left, Sir. Bugging out. Confirm, Sir?!

Shane McArthur

Placing his holdall by the exit door, Shane takes a seat by a metal conference table in the center of the room. Finally a seat that isn´t trying to throw me off. He takes in the scene. A large meeting room of sorts, with a small cupboard harboring a kitchenette with a mocca master. Two workstations with rather old computers line the only wall without windows. The windows are a mix of panoramas with and without mock-up mahogany blinds.

A nest of cables wind up an i-beam reaching for the ceiling. A spiral staircase leads to a second level of the structure.

A cubicle in one of the corners of the room suits as a restroom. The sticker on the door is a dead give-away. Emergency! Pull handle! After the text is a gas mask symbol.

How far is it to this rig? He watches as Vasqez comes in just before Zajic.

Lisa has had a brief message from UNSF Col. Chard that a team would touch down. But he hadn´t specified their arrival.

The distance to the rig is thirty minutes by snowmobile. Roughly five kilometers.

Station 10 has two vehicles but one is in the maintenance bay for fuel leakage. The working vehicle plus the UNSF issue snowmobile will get the entire team there.

Messed up the consistency of the posts. To make things clear: it´s Helena Zajic who stays outside and comes in after the others. Dang!

So, I edited some posts to clarify that.
