Good news Mooneyes & Saecel! Best of reasons to be absent from Umbria :) Hope it all goes well Saecel and you get settled well, remember to stay neutral whatever happens hehe

Regarding the Xmas task, I was hoping for an idea such as Leonid's when I mentioned "Christmas with a twist". I'll give it some thought but it does sound good. Also, I think we should try to include some elements which relate to RPG and stuff, since we are in a role-playing forum after all. So this could combine both in a way that the stories would be Christmas-related, but at the same time these could introduce "out-of-this-world" stuff from different settings and fictional cultures. That is, if someone wants to. Sounds good to me.

I am sorry for not being able to do the last task. Real life has also kept me busy. And congrats, Saecel and Mooeneyes, I am very hapy for you ^^

The Christmas task sounds really good, I like it ^^

No problems Mooneyes :)

Tomorrow is December already!! Phew, time flies (like an arrow)... Bad joke, sorry.

I will prepare the new task with the Christmas theme probably tomorrow, I think I got the idea but it's been a bit hectic for the past few weeks so I need to get my head together.

Soooooo, ahem. About the task...

You know, it was a funny thing. I sat down with a very simple idea, and then I just got into the rhythm and started writing and writing and then writing some more, picking up more ideas (and words) as I went along and weeeeeeell, by the time I finished I kind of realised I had gone a bit over the 500-word limit.  "Over" as in, probably three or four times that amount.

I still kind of like it, and it'd be a pity not to use it after sitting here for... what the fuck, three hours straight? Geeze. Anyways, I´ll leave it here.

I don't ask for any corrections, don't read it if you want to, don't comment if you don't want. I know it's very long and way over the scope so I don't feel it's fair for anyone to take all that effort because I couldn't keep my literary impetus in my pants. Read it if you want to, comment if you want to. If you like it that's fine and if not I´ll just send a Krampus it's fine too.

Don't worry if you go over the word limit by a mile, it was a great read Leonid! I'm a bit overwhelmed by different projects (some are RPG-related yeeey), and not feeling the Xmas spirit just yet. But I have read the stories so far, and really liked them. I'll see if I can do one sometime next week.

Hello everyone, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I hope you having a wonderful time surrounded for your loved ones.

I´m going to post this into the Forum thread. It´s the introductory adventure of the new 7th Sea (second edition), totally narrated and played in English, both the players and myself too.

If you are interested please go to link there and let me know that you are part of this group, so you can put into practice all the lessons learned here :)

Hi Edelweiss, cool to see a game in English! Unfortunate I cannot cope with the pace at present, but I wish you all the best. I'll copy your post to the Umbria Meeting Point also, it's a specific section of the English workshop for games in English.

Regarding the thread in the main forum, I believe you need to write the post in Spanish even if the game is in English. Forum rules...

From experience, it is not always easy to find players for games in English, but your adventure does look appealing, so fingers crossed you get the players you need.

Happy New Year to all! The task nr 6 has officially ended, I will leave it open for a few more days in case someone else wants to participate. There were a total of five Christmas-themed stories which I guess is OK, considering the holiday season. I was thinking of a simpler task for nr7, something like "New Year's Resolutions". To continue with the idea of a monthly task related to the current time. But we can do something completely different also in January.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I like the idea too. Each year I do a resolution. This one is from this year:

The perimeter of an isosceles trapezoid is 110 m and the bases are 40 and 30 m in length. Calculate the length of the non-parallel sides of the trapezoid and its area.

110= 40+30+2l l=20m

h=√(20² - 5²)= 19.36

A= [(40+30)*19.36]/2

A= 677.77 m²

Isn't it pretty?

Wow, January has gone so fast! In a few days it's time to close the monthly task, and open a new one. One idea I have is a sort of "instructional text". A cooking recipe, furniture mounting, how to build a "Doom's Day Device", etc.

But I am open to any suggestions or ideas.
