Jason runs to the cage

The debris from the shot down plates rain down over Mario. Most of the parts land sizzling in the snow, only fragments hit him and bounce off of his protective suit. As the last plate from the first wave gets closer, he sees it has sharp edges and reminds him of a circular saw blade.

Peter takes his .45 out and calmly points at the latest object, that is approaching too much to Gusmao for his liking.

He blows it out of the sky easily and says to the Sec man: Mario, inside quick, five more incoming!

And he rushes inside the elevator.

Lisa is awoken by the last shot and gets inside the cage before Peter and Jason gets in.
Still holding the SMG at the ready - moving it between the five incoming plates, Mario calculates the chance of taking them out with a burst.
Or to call it a day and join the others.

Zajic holds her fire as the immediate threat is gone.

- All right, all right...

Mario, seeing that they may have more blades than he has bullets, also rushes inside the elevator.

All being inside the freight elevator, McArthur shuts the cage door. The five plates shatter against the elevator cage and spray bits and pieces of the plates on the cage floor. They seem to writhe as the bits tremble.

A hydraulic lever pulls the elevator up and down the beam to the center of the platform 70 meters up. By pushing the lever gas shifts in the system and pushes the cargo up. That way the elevator remains operational even under the power outage. That much is evident from a schematic on the wall next to the lever.

No more plates come down from above.

The cage starts to descend. Meanwhile the remains of the plates wriggle their way towards the feet of the people inside the cage.

Molotov takes aim and crushes a handful of them with his boot.

The team sees how the surface escapes up as the cage is below the ice.

Lisa shake her head, looking surprised the plates that remain in the elevator. When Molotov destroid them, she breathes deeply and then sigh, with fear in her eyes.

'What the fuck was that!?' 'Any of you people know what weapon that was?'

Jason examines the remaining fragments in the light of a flashlight fitted to his survival dress. In the dark cage, the only lights are the ones the team brought. For now, it´s the individual lights of the suits.
He touches a piece of the plate and it shrinks in size. Not much but noticeably.

"Beats me," McArthur says, "Sure looked like some automated defense system."

"I don´t like this.. how far down are we going again?" Dannii asks.

Jason reloads his rifle and straping his backpak tight and picking up his flashlight making it accesible at all times.
'God know whats down there, be ready'

Peter holsters his weapon and examines the fragments, taking  a small sample that he stores in a plastic container of his toolkit.

We'll take a look after, says. 

Vasquez took the gun that gave the endowment, review it, she knew that it is time to use

OK-says to the group- im ready, I just hope it is not necessary use it- showing the gun.

Lisa shake her head with agreement and move to the back of the elevator in the case as not hinder her coworkers in case something horrible will wait at the elevator stops.

I hope it, too.

Peter slowly moves his hand to cover Vasquez's gun-hand and slids the safety lever to the "safe" position. I'm sure, honey, but let's play it safe, says with a grin.

Zajic looks around on her companions. "OK, when we get out of this - remember we have to get to the top of this to get the bird." She shakes her head. "I´m not facing those plates again."

Dannii rests on one knee and looks at some of the remains. "They sure look alive..."

"Don´t play with those things. They might still be dangerous. But, sure bring a sample. Just watch it so you don´t regret bringing it." He shoulders his carbine and shines his flashlight down the grated cage floor.

After a little while the freight cage comes to a stop. Just before it reached the stop an opening in the side of the large structure became visible. A green emergency light is on and the team can see it´s an elevator bay. A circular floor with two elevators in the middle. The cage is located at the south edge of the circle. Around the circle are lockers located all around, except where the cage lift is.

They are all numbered.

No one is meeting them, not friendlies nor hostiles. The elevator bay seems deserted.
From the cage it´s evident that there´s something on the other side of the two elevators.

Dannii checks her gamestation and logs on to the mission files. "Should be showers and rest rooms.", she reports.
"Could need a hot shower about now!"Molotov grins.

Dannii shakes her gamestation. "Damn, batteries are fading."She shuts the game off to save whatever is left.

Jason moves carefully to the other side of the cage taking a look what is there. Rifle at the ready.

a cold sweat as the place where she was running down her face; the corpses, the place, having to leave there, all that was mixed in the minds of Vazquez. mustered all their forces and moved stealthily.
