Just to confirm I´m waiting for you to post in the scene...
Yeah, sorry, i've had a rough week (today i spent the whole day at an hospital's ER and still am really dizzy). I'll be posting between today and tomorrow. So sorry to keep you waiting.
No probs, hope everything is OK. No rush with the posting, just wanted to let the players I´m waiting to post know, ´cause sometimes we both wait for the other one to post :)
Sorry for the delay, mate. Got a lot of things giving me headaches lately...
No worries, hope you sort everything out :) I just wanted to make sure you were not waiting for me!
Nice post btw.
I´ve closed the scene "Vigilante Justice" at this point, I think the scene has served its purpose and there was not much to add. Hope you don´t mind, if there was something else you wanted to say/add, we can squeeze it in somehow. If not, the next scene is "in production"... It will be called "High Stakes", and it has a bit of poker, more PCs (I hope, Mayer has a weird record of scenes starting/planned with a bunch of players and ending up alone) and other surprises.
Definitely looking forward to have more interaction with some other PCs and keep enjoying this game :)
Great scene by the way. I really like the way everything (including Mayer himself) is evolving.
Thanks for the feedback, I wanted to keep up the pace and opened a new scene. There is a small surprise there for you, hope you enjoy. I´m crap at video editing but I felt it would fit in nicely here so I put something together yesterday. And the quote from Shakespeare fits the moment so well :)
In this scene, all the characters the posts are for are hidden. This is done on purpose as there will be a few things happening at the same time.
Wow. Just, wow. I really love the video. All the footage fits everything that happened so far so precisely that I'm even starting to wonder if the plot is based on some movie in particular! (And if that's the case, I'd really love to see it!). By the way, the video has some weird colors, not sure if it's because of Youtube's video compression or if it's intentional to recreate the dream-like feeling.
Great job, mate. Congrats. Not all DMs put so much love and effort on their games.
all the characters the posts are for are hidden
Well thanks for the info, I though I was going mad. Even tried to refresh the site a few times, afraid thinking it was some kind of error with the Umbría server. But in this case, when I post, should I use the default posting options or mark it as 'just for the DM'?
The colours are intentional, I tried to make it feel like it was a dream. Also it helps to mix images from different films. For this video, I mixed images from two films: Lawman and Once Upon a Time in the West.
Regarding the game itself, the main plot (or part of it) and characters are based on the film "Lawman" from 1971, starring Burt Lancaster. This is stated actually in the synopsis and presentation :) Basically Maddox, the Bronsons and the part that starts with the dead old man are from that film, and many of the characters and the location of Sabbath. Then I added new characters and background stories to the mix. I do recommend you watch the film Lawman but AFTER we finish the game. It is a great film and far too underrated in my opinion. I loved it as a kid and now I´ve had a chance to revisit the whole Wild West genre with this game for which I am truly grateful.
should I use the default posting options or mark it as 'just for the DM'?
Use the default options please, that way I can easily add new characters as the scene advances.
New scene opened for Dekker also. It´s called "High Stakes". I´ve configured the scene with all the participants hidden. This is on purpose, so don´t worry. Just use the default posting option.
New scene opened for Alacran called "High Stakes". I´ve configured the scene with all the participants hidden. This is on purpose, so don´t worry. Just use the default posting option.
I´ve moved the story forward for Arch Stanton/Trinity and now he is the new scene called "High Stakes". This scene I´ve configured with all the participants hidden (use the default posting option), and there are different actions taking place at the same time, so please try to post regularly.
I´ve posted the song list for all the scenes in Act II, here
The last scenes of Act II have begun, so if there no unexpected surprises, Act II will close with 16 scenes completed. After that, there is the final Act and conclusion, which I am planning/hoping to do in one or two scenes. There is still some story left to do, but we are getting to the final chapter.
Hi everyone. I'm here writing after 15 hours of well-deserved rest. Maybe those of you who ever worked in a software factory know what I'm about to talk, and those who not, I hope you can understand, 'cause I've been under a hell of a pressure for the last two weeks. Stupid product managers making impossible promises to clients, crazy release dates, bugs everywhere... I've been sleeping for 5 hours max per day. But finally I'm free again (well, maybe I'll still be missing some days this next week, but I'd say I'm kind of free), back, and ready for action.
Thanks for NPC-ing me (is that even a way to say it? lol). I didn't want to delay the game any more.
Nice to see you back! and in one piece (sort of) :)
Take your rest, and then we´ll get going with the wild west.
I haven´t mentioned any western films recently, not had too much time to watch them unfortunately :( I did finish the series Deadwood (3 seasons), and even though it did end a bit abrupt, as a whole I liked, especially the range of secondary characters and the overall quality of it.
I watched one more time "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly". I know I said I would not revisit to the dollar trilogy, but I enjoyed "Once Upon a Time in the West" so much I wanted to see something more from Leone.
Tonight, I hope to watch Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, with Paul Newman and Robert Redford.
Did anyone watch "the Hateful Eight" by the way?
