Mayer: OK no worries, your character sheet was finished quickly.

Also Crowe is ready to go. We should have some others ready also very soon.

For now there are five players, there is a sixth that is confirmed for July. And two that will participate at some point with a sort of cameo, but not as PCs. I am still missing two players for two characters, one I can probably use as NPC but the other one is central to the story. In case you know anyone that would like to participate.

This weekend I will be out but hopefully before then we can have more characters ready, and next week we can move forward.

Someone new walked into the smoke-filled saloon...

-"Choctaw" Lee!... Ey, this redeye´s on the house!!

The barman filled up the sixth glass with whiskey and pushed the glass to the newcomer. And then one poured one for himself.

-Welcome pard! We´ve been sorta waitin´ for you.

Choctaw smiles and picks the first glass and drinks all of it in one shot. Takes the next and looks the barman.

- Of course you are. I'm the party man.

Turns around and looks around.

- I'm here. Do you wanna say something, people?

OK. I'm not back at 100% but I'll be able to keep a decent post rate, I think.

I'd like to practice, yeah. I don't feel very comfortable with the system yet. I don't mean I don't like it (it looks like I'll love it, in fact): it's just too different from what I've played before that I feel really lost.

Hi, nowadays I'm having a little bit of delay, and the matter of writting in a non mother language doesn't improve things.

I'm relatively avalaible. Ready, somehow :-P

Hi, yeah must be the summer, it´s sometimes hard to post regullary. This weekend I will start new scenes so that the finished characters can get some practice and also some intro stuff. So new posts are on their way, especially for those who finished their character quickly and have been waiting.

Almost all characters are done or nearly done now. I will need to make some changes and create a few extra NPC for the story, but we should all be ready to go by Monday.

- He-hello! I've been so busy trying to collect myself after I drink so much... ¡Hic! - Hurd Price said, having a little hiccup at the end.

- Did you tell something about start to practise? - Hurd got up his head and he opened his eyes that seems like oranges. - I also want it! - Exclaimed.

Wow. I mean, wow. We'll get used to it for sure, but looks pretty impressive and complicated the first time. Or maybe it's just me xD

The example is a bit complicated because it includes all the math and modifications, in normal gameplay it should run smoother. Each player describes the action and if shooting, aims for the specific location (head, left hand, leg, crotch). The rest is for me to do.

One thing to consider is the process of drawing a gun, then to aim or not to aim, to hipshoot, to fanfire... but once you know what these things mean, they seem to work in a very realistic way (hipshooting is quicker but less accurate). Also the system reflects the fact that it is not easy to hit so most likely you end up shooting over and over again, or moving to get very close.

And the Count Up (1,2,3...) gives it that western feel.

I wanted to do a slow step by step scene, but instead decided to scare the hell out of ya all first hehehe And then take it slow...

The intro scene with Choctaw, Mayer and Dekker is posted now.

I will prepare one for Sinta, Crowe and Hurd in a moment.

We can comment on the shoot out here :) Basically, the mechanics look for an initial stand still, where everyone decides what to do, and then the actions start happening very much at the same time or with split second difference (each count is a tenth of a second). In this example, I´ve put a lot of the game mechanics information so you know what´s going on "behind the scense". I will probably include at least the Count Up in the notes, but will try to make it more narrative on the top part and put less info regarding the counts and modifiers in the future. And you do not have to know the modifiers by heart.

Also, in this example there are seven people in the gunfight, so there is a lot going on at the same time.

Since there are no turns, the actions take place all around each character giving (hopefully) this hectic feel to a gunfight. Keep calm and shoot at the guy in front of you and hope for the best :) Ah, and the accuracy is quite realistic...That is, it´s not easy to hit the target.

One thing I learned while playtesting was that it is not that important to fire first, it´s sometimes better to aim carefully and hit the target after the opponent misses.

There are simplified rules for the gunfights (no weapon modifiers, no previous gunfight experience modifiers, no options to aim carefully, no fanfiring, no hipshooting)... but I prefer the detail in this case, the challenge is to make it cinematic.

I prefer the more detailed one too. It’s more realistic, which is the way I like things even if it means it will be a little more complex.

I just have an observation to do: in the example one of the gunfighters get an impact in the head... but he doesn’t dies! It seems not very realistic to me. There’s no especial rules for that?

OK Jack, glad you liked it so far.

Yeah, the shot-in-the-head thing surprised me a bit too. But it´s not that difficult to get a hit on the head, and the damage is location-specific (the charts are for each part of the body I mean, so it´s not the same to shoot at a leg or at an arm). The fact that you hit the head does not mean that it is exactly between the eyes, it can be a scratch on the forehead, or cheek. So in that example, the damage was less than expected. But from what I´ve seen, the damage is worse in the head than in other parts of the body normally.

In the other scene I am doing with the other three players, one of the characters is trying to shoot a rifle on the ground so that the opponent cannot pick it up. These sort of things seem very "western-style", and also the fact that if you miss, we know exactly where the bullet went so it could hit someone else behind the opponent for instance.
