Notas de juego

Fanfiring is done same as normal firing. Roll 1d20 and you have to declare shot (target and if you aim for the chest or head). The three cowboys: Cowboy nr1 had his back turned to Alacran, and C2 and C3 were sitting opposite him. It looks as if C2 is the first to react (and shoot), then C1 and finally C3. So you can shoot C2-C1-C3, or concentrate your fire on C2 for instance. You get to shoot at C2 before he shoots.

Each shot takes 3 counts, so you could shoot 3 times in 9 tenths of the second (!). Fanfiring has -6 accuracy penalty, but you only have -3 because of the special talent. If you shoot the 2nd shot at the same target, you get +1, and the 3rd is +2. On the other hand, the 2nd shot has -1 if fired in less than 2 seconds, and the 3rd has -3. Fanfiring is not very accurate, but it gives very good backup and protection.

Jose Alacran runs for cover, and at the same time Choctaw prepares to fanfire his revolver. The barman has taken his gun out, and one of the cowboys is about to shoot!

Notas de juego

Alacran: move 10 feet (6 counts), throw table (5 counts), kneel (2 counts), your next action is on Count 40. I will describe the scene then as there are different things happening before.

Choctaw: please specify target, I guess C2 as he looks as he is going to fire before the other cowboys. Specify location, and roll 1d20. Your shot will be fired on Count 36 (just before C2) shot, and then every 3 counts the additional shots. You can roll 3 shots if you wish, but on each you have to specify target. As you fire very quickly, you do not have time to wait to see the damage of your shots.

Choctaw fanfires the first shot35 at the cowboy who was about to fire his gun, but the outlaw was quicker and hit the cowboy in the abdomen!

The bullet hits hard in the abdomen, and the cowboy goes down holding his stomach with both hands. Choctaw keeps firing like crazy, hitting the hammer with the palm of his left hand. The next shot was aimed at the cowboy to the right of him38, but he misses. However, only a split second afterwards, a third shot is fired at the nearest cowboy with great accuracy, but causing only a minor scratch.

Jose Alacran is looking for some cover behind the table40 and the Cantinero is aiming to fire at him. The two cowboys are also preparing to fire, one at Alacran and the other one is aiming at one of the Mexicans.

The journalist has found cover under the table.

Jack has grabbed his rifle and as he moves towards the door, he can hear three gunshots fired quickly. BANG! BANG! BANG! All within a second. Either someone is fanfiringA or different shooters are firing simultaneously.

He hurries to the door.

Notas de juego

You get to the door on Count 53, the three gunshots where fired on counts 35-38-41.

So we are on Count 41 still, in a second you will open the door and see what is going on downstairs.

AFanfiring: Single action revolvers need to be cocked manually, and then have the trigger pulled in order to discharge. In order to get a Speed advantage, some gunslingers prefer to use their off hand in a palm down fanning motion to
repeatedly pull back the hammer. This is called "fanfiring"

Alacran has drawn out his Griswold&Gunnison revolver45 as he has no shots left in his shot gun. The table offers some protection against the barman who is about to shoot him. The shot goes wide43 to the left hitting the wall behind Alacran.

From behind the barrels, Choctaw fires like a madman at one of the cowboys, who seeks cover kneeling down. The outlaw misses his three shots44-47-50 and his gun is empty now, but there is only one cowboy standing now.

One of the Mexicans gets to the door and opens it trying to get away, but the cowboy who is stills standing shoots at him48. Everything is confusing, and the cowboy does not know where the shots are coming from. To make matters worse, he fails miserably and shoots one of the horses through the open door instead. Just as Choctaw fires his sixth and last shot, the Mexican gets out the door

More and more gunshots can be heard from downstairs as Jack Dekker opens the door. What he sees is true chaos. Choctaw is in the far corner, hiding behind some barrels holding a smoking gun. The barman has a revolver in his hand, and he is pointing at Alacran in front of him, and the Mexican born outlaw is about to fire at the cantinero.

On one of the tables, there is the lifeless corpse of James O´Neill. There is a big hole on his left shoulder, and the blood is pouring down. Beneath the table, Jack can see a shadow of the journalist probably.

Then the three cowboys. One of them is kneeling down holding his gun, another one is lying prone trying to get to his gun and he is bleeding from his stomach. The last one is standing and just fired at one of the Mexicans who are running to the door to get away.

Notas de juego

...51,52...

Jack Dekker (JD): you start your action on Count 53. You are holding your rifle. To bring it to aim takes 4 counts, and to fire deliberately takes an additional 8 counts (+4 Accuracy). You can "take careful aim" instead of firing deliberately (20 counts, and +6 accuracy).

Choctaw Lee (CL): you fired your last shot on Count 50. To reload takes 10 Counts per cartridge.

Jose Alacran (JA): you will fire at the Cantinero on Count 53. Please roll 1d20 with +9 modifier. And then 1d4 for damage.

Mexican (M1) is almost at the door, he will exit the Cantina on Count 56. The other Mexican (M2) went through the door just as Jack arrived.

Journalist (JR): he is hiding below the table. On top of the table there is the body of James O´Neill.

Cowboys: C2 is lying prone, he is conscious but he has been shot in the stomach and he is struggling to move. C1 is kneeling behind the table to avoid Choctaw´s shots. C3 has just shot at the Mexican (M2) on Count 48, but he hit a horse outside instead. He is preparing to fire again but he is looking for a new target.

PLEASE DECLARE ACTIONS AND REMEMBER TO INCLUDE ALL 3 PLAYERS NOW

Alacran flinched at the shot58, and kneeled behind the table for protection. The cantinero aimed again, and to the left of him, one of the cowboys was aiming at the outlaw with a revolver. But suddenly he got a shot to the head! BANG! A true sharpshooter shot by Jack Dekker from up the stairs65. The bullet blew off a big part of the head, and the poor cowboy was dead before he hit the ground.

The cowboy that was hiding behind the table saw his friend die before his eyes, and the other cowboy was injured. However, he summoned his courage, and stood up to face Jack Dekker with his Colt Navy.

The Cantinero tried to shoot through the table at Jose “Alacran”. He could see part of the Mexican´s sombrero, but still he missed67. This was the moment Alacran had been waiting for, and he got up to return fire.

Jack Dekker: nice shot. Penetration damage so 18 HP total, plus since it was a shot to the head, double the damage. With 12 HP to the head the cowboy was dead anyway :) To cock and fire again is 10 counts, plus 8 if you wish to fire deliberately or plus 20 if you wish to take careful aim. The cowboy (C1) will shoot on Count 79 and you are ready to fire on Count 75 but without accuracy bonus for aiming. Please specify, and roll 1d20 and then 1d10+1 for damage.

Choctaw Lee: on Count 80 you have reloaded 3 cartridges on your revolver. You can stop reloading at any time, otherwise each 10 counts you will have reloaded 1 more cartridge.

Barman: Accuracy +1, Distance +4, Fires deliberately +2, 2nd shot -1 = +6. The table gives additional cover. 3 inches thick, so -2HP is deducted (soft wood/pine). Roll 3+6=9 misses. He decides to take careful aim next time.

Alacran: you can stand up (5 counts), bring your gun to aim (4) and fire deliberately (4) so your shot would be fired on Count 80. The Barman would fire on 82, so you have a small advantage there. Accuracy +3, Fire Deliberately +2, Distance +4. Total +9. Roll 1d20 and then 1d4 for damage please.
