Phew!!! :D I didn´t want to leave you hanging there till tomorrow, so I did the rolls. The mishap was nothing which is great news, as this is really not a good time for a mechanical failure with the gun). And Rico misses! I applied the visibility bonus as he is firing from inside the campfire area to the darkness outside (in this case in the building). As he turned around quickly, I think it should apply. As his eyes get used to the darkness, he will be able to shoot without the negative modifier as you are very close.

It´s not over yet :)

I see it and I can't believe it!! Almost threw my cup of juice because of the emoticon xD

Lets hope that the third roll is the winning one.

Two great shots by Dekker and Choctaw :) Things can really change quickly in a shootout. Fingers crossed Alacran survives his confrontation with Hector.

Nice change of look, Ace :)

Thank you! That dirty old avatar didn't represent the Mayer looks anymore (actually, it's been a while since the looks changed), so the DM and me agreeded to change it for a fancier look.

Rob´s character has really come a long way in the story, and others as well. But he is the only one who gets to change the photo XP

And congrats for the move to London! I´m sure you´ll do fine over there. Or more like:

I reckon ya gonna be just alright ´er pal!

I wanted to ask Rossana a few questions before leaving, so I moved next to her for a private chat*.

I´ll wait for you to post for the private chat with Rosanna.

This weekend I finally sat down to watch Django Unchained. I agree it was well overdue, and I had heard a lot of things about this film. On the other hand, my take on this journey through the western genre was to rekindle my liking of classic westerns, and I had a feeling a Tarantino flick was not going to fall into that category XP

First, I am not a Tarantino fanboy. I love Pulp Fiction. I found many of his other films entertaining and interesting. Some are great (Reservoir Dogs). Some are forgettable, yet entertaining. He has a very particular style, and he can produce incredibly funny dialogues. And he can also produce films that leave you feeling as if nothing special really happened there...

Django Unchained is a great Tarantino film. It´s witty, it´s visually compelling, it´s fun and it has style and coolness. And a lot of blood and gore and killing. And Samuel L. Jackson and Di Caprio and other great actors. It´s a great Tarantino film, but I wouldn´t rank it too high as a great western. It´s more like "Boyz´n the Hood" but in the fantasy Wild West that only exists in Tarantino´s mind which is a weird place to be in for too long.

It takes elements from other directors especially Sergio Leone but in a way that makes the original works seem far more elaborate and deep than this one. The music is great at times, but I could have lived without the rap music parts. And without the sunglasses :) Tarantino´s story telling is all over the place at times, the pace is weird, the gunfights too bloody and dull, the villains very shallow... and still, it all somehow works :) But as a "Tarantino film".

After watching how Leone took elements from a dozen Hollywood westerns to do "Once Upon a Time", and to pay tribute to those films (the initial sequence is a clear reference to High Noon for instance) to create a truly epic movie, "Django Unchained" made me feel like Tarantino had watched a thousand western films but never really understood what the films were about. And wanted to play and do "his thing".

Maybe all the fuzz created too high expectations, and this is a problem I have with Tarantino. I don´t think any film he has done after Pulp Fiction has really made the same impact to me then that one. In time, I´m sure I´ll watch Django Unchained again and see it in a different and more positive light.

I guess you just can't see it as you could with any other movie. Tarantino has his own personal style: you love it or you hate it. It's just like Inglorious Basterds. You can't even compare it to any other WWII film ever made.

I fucking love his style and loved the film, but just trying to be objective, it's not a bad movie neither a good one. The actors were simply great (I mean, c'amon... give Di Caprio the Oscar already...!!), and the dialogues were some of the best. Really loved the characters too, but as you said, everything has his sign... From the OST to the damn giant tooth over the caravan (lol), and some of the things are really out of place here. Also I felt the plot at some points was a bit weak, making the film longer than necessary.

Waiting for Choctaw to confirm, and I will post. Please use the Count Up as a guide (in Notes), all the actions have to be resolved in that order and I will not skip ahead or go backwards with the Count Up.

Choctaw has a slim chance to help Alacran out with Hector.

Scene updated. Sorry for the delay, I had missed Choctaw´s post :)

And all three shots missed! So back to square one with Alacran, Choctaw and Hector. And Rico is getting back up again. Well, at least Jack hits his mark! XP

Just to clarify... Hurd is going to the the Registrars office to finish son (private) business. Mayer and Crowe follow him? Maddox already left the registrars Office to go back to the hotel (probably to have some lunch). Luther Harris is gathering people from town at his shop to discuss actions against Maddox.

Ok, my mistake. I didn't know it was "private" bussiness, I thought it had something to do with our task. Guess I'll wait for him outside, just like he did when I spoke with Rosanna.

I think what Tingwe means is that we shouldn't be on our way to the registrar's office since Maddox is not there. I can't edit my message since you wrote something already, but I'll write something with a change of direction as soon as I can.

Sorry!

You are free to decide, but I had understood that Hurd was going to finish his business (not secret-private, but not related to the Maddox situation) and leave town. That is, Hurd is not going to meet Maddox nor try to calm down the "Harris posse". That´s how I understood it. So I don´t see any point following Hurd to the Registrar´s Office.

Crowe and Mayer have to decide whether go directly to Maddox, or go first to speak to Harris and the rest (which is what Lucas suggested). Or split up. But as far as I understand, Hurd will leave town quickly since he is on Maddox´s list.

Woops, sorry if I caused any confusion. It's exactly as Tingwe says as far as Hurd's concerned: he's just sorting out something with the Registrar, then getting out of town before things get uglier.

Don't worry, it isn't your fault. I didn't want to follow you, I wanted to talk with Maddox, and thought he was at the Registrar's Office.

OK all sorted. I edited the last two posts slightly. Crowe and Mayer please decide in the scene that you both go directly to talk to Maddox at the hotel.

This scene is nearly over, I will open new scene for that meeting, or for the Harris shop if you decide to go that way. Hurd will be leaving town shortly, but for now include him in the posts please.
