Background: Place of origin: Atlantic coast (Carolinas, VA, GA...), rural background. Both parents living. 6 siblings, you are the 2nd youngest, 4 sisters are still alive, including the youngest sister with whom you have very close relationship.

23 years of age, right handed, 71" tall (178 cm), 197 lbs.

You are from LLC (lowe lower class), basically your family were petty criminals before you went West to build a farm. You have $35 starting money.

Regarding the shotgun, are you sure you want a shotgun? Or a rifle? Shotguns are very very deadly, but very much close range. Also they are expensive, but we can see.

My Reputation is 78 (added all my Abilities,and -3 for Looks and +3 for Charisma, 78, then).

Not exactly, it is the average of the abilities, the sum is 75, you divide it by 7 and round down so it is 10. Looks and Charisma are -3 and +3 so 10.

There is a separate part of the sheet for reputation (during gameplay, your actions increase and lower your reputation, and even the people that ride with you modify it). I need to upload that as well.

He is charismatic and intelligent enough to know when to shut up, and as it is usually pretty difficult to say the truth and not offend someone, he has got a bit of the laconic type

OK very good, I´ll roll/select some background stuff:

Origin: Indian (you were raised by your Indian mother up to a certain age). Illegitimate child, but you were told that your father was Tom Lee. Both parents are still living.

Tom had quite a few legitimate and illegitimate children in the Indian territory. He was married to a white woman. In total he fathered 10 children, you are nr 5. But six died to an infectious disease.

Oldest sibling: sister, living, argumentative relationship. Second oldest (another sister), not so bad relationship. Then a brother who died, and another sister who also accepted you to a point. Then you, and your younger sister and brother who both died (the younger brother really hated you when you appeared in their lives). Another young sister is still alive but she also has an argumentative relationship with you. Not easy being a half-breed I guess.

Your Indian mother and her family were of average wealth. Left handed, 23 years old, 69" tall and 157 lbs.

  2. early riser (5)
  3. blind in one eye (40)
  4. no depth perception (35)

Spendrift => basically spends all his money straight away. It´s ok I guess.

Blind in One Eye and No depth perception => both are very bad for accuracy, and I am not sure they fit the character. In any case, I would take just the "no depth perception", never both.

Early Riser => not sure this one fits the character, he gets up early but also goes to bed early.

Other quirks/flaws that could be interesting:

*Deathwish (20): very self-explanatory :) In game terms, you have a 25% chance to take an insane risk

*Chunked (20) over-confident => similar to the Deatwish, bold and impetuous. He will not run even if fighting 3:1.
*Hardcase (5) tough, emotionless => sounds cool
*Hothead (40) little provocation pushes over the edge => maybe this one is not that interesting...

I would recommend maybe 3-4 quirks maximum. Whatever quirks/flaws you take, please have a look at the talents also:

TALENTS
Courage (10) -4 not to flinch, also never forced to flee (this could go well together with Chunked)
Fan Firing (35) -3 instead of -6 => this is actually very good, it allows to shoot very fast using the palm of the hand to pull the trigger.
Reputation bonus (35) +1 REP FOR EVERY 10 POINTS GAINED => a special aura that makes everyone talk about the character
Weapon bonus (50) => gives a special bonus for one weapon type.

The thing about Deathwish, Courage or Chunked is to give the character that extra edge that makes him stand out.

Ok no blind in one eye and no "no depth perception". 

Early riser, I didn't think that it implicates go to bed early. So rejected.

Deathwish , and chunked, they are similars and complementary parts.

Hardcase, that's good.

Courage, fan firing, weapon bonus, That's fine to me, what about Hip Shooter?

Sorry for the delay, it´s been a bit hectic lately. Ok, to get the ball rolling again with Sinta, I´ve gone through the quirks/flaws/talents:

Quirks:
- Greedy: Sinta is poor, is trying to find her fortune, and will hoard as much money as she can
(15 BP) => the problem is that she would use any means necessary to accumulate more and more wealth, so not sure about this one.

- Soft touch: Sinta is sometimes too soft with the bad guys (30BP) => this quirk basically means that drifters
and beggars come to ask for help and money, and she has difficulties refusing. This is not compatible with Greedy, it would be one or the other, or neither.

- Nosy: Sinta gets interest in other people´s life, maybe a bit too much => agreed, a bit too much, so we ignore this one.

- Clean freak: It is not that she is too clean, it is that all those men behave like pigs! (25 BP) => interesting,
the character keeps herself, her equipment and even her horse neat and tidy, bathes frequently. Also will refuse
to go into dirty establishments, urging any companions to instead use the high priced saloons and eateries instead.

- Touchy: You better not doubt that she can do it "because she is a woman" unless you want to confront her rage (25 BP)=> fits in very nicely

- Fear of heigts: why not?, Superstitious: why not? => hmm, yes, but why yes? hehe

- Abstinent (30 BP): either alcohol or sex, it fits Sinta well (30 BP) => it´s a roll of a dice, alcohol, tobacco, gambling
or sex. Any one would actually fit, for different reasons.
 
- Bad Liar (40 BP): maybe...=> hmm, it´s a possibility, but just doesn´t feel right for some reason.

- Nagging conscience: being a Jimmy Cricket? I like it! (15 BP) => OK, you wouldn´t have peace of mind because of something you did in the past (this could fit your story), and if you commit unlawful act or loose Reputation, you need to checkWisdom or you want to make ammend straight away. This one I like.

Flaws:
- Low Pain Toleration: maybe? - Migraines: probably. => no need to add more flaws.

I would take:

Nagging conscience (15 BP), Touchy (25BP), Abstinent (30BP)

Talents:
  Endurance: resist physical exhaustion (15 BP) => sounds cool
  Perceive Tendency: understand what others are trying to get to, maybe extra INT roll for hints from DM? => no, this
talent is for gunfights and duels only
  Quick Aim: fire quickly without penalties (40BP) => this is very good in general
  Resist Disease/Infection: what it says on the tin (20BP) => also interesting

Maybe Quick Aim (40BP) and either Endurance or Resist Disease/Infection, the latter might be a good excuse for her to care for the sick or wounded.

What do you think?

The BP cost in brackets does not really apply for cherry-picked flaws, you get less BPs. But in any case, they fit the character nicely.

Regarding Fan Firing or Hip Shooting, it´s really one or the other I think, they are different techniques. I prefer Fan Firing for the kind of "all out crazy shooter", and it is especially interesting if up against more foes. And deadly. Hip Shooting is good for duels and such.

OK flaws, quirks and talents. I had to remove the Weapon Bonus, not enough BP.

I did give you full BP for Deathwish and Hardcase as they fit the character very well.

In total you have 61 BP to spend on skills. If you look at the spreadsheet, you can see the cost for 1st purchase, 2nd purchase, and so on. For example:

Gaming: costs 2 BP for 1st purchase (I would do the roll 18+1d8 for exact bonus), the 2nd purchase would be 3BP to improve the skill further.

Language (Chocataw) cost 6 BP 1st purchase, 11 for 2nd purchase

Primitive Ranged Weapon (Knife) 4 BP (Choctaw Lee uses knife as well sometimes)

And so on, any questions about the skills please let me know, there is some basic info in the tutorial as well, but the skills are not explained there (most of them are quite self-explanatory I think).

Abstinence: Sinta has sworn off Alcohol, and if she does decide to drink she would probably get drunk faster than others. You cannot select this flaw twice (you can of course role play it, but you won´t get the extra BP).

I have finished the skill selection also. I will choose the gear and weapon and we are done. I guess the handgun would be the one you stole from the guy who tried to rape you. Also a rifle?

The old style photograph is OK for the character sheet, but for the avatar I would prefer a color photograph similar to the other characters.

The gear looks good, I have removed the cost for pants, plain shirt and plain shoes, so you have $4,54 left, in case you find something else you want to purchase (boots for instance). Or the camping equipment (like a wedge tent).

The boots cost $15, so it's something completely out of my budget. The shoes will have to do. The tent would be nice, but I would also only a few remaining pennies.

If I get a job and it has to be in the field, I will ask an advance to buy those things.

I'll only get one more thing:

Tobacco, chewing (per bag) $0,10

After all, "Jack" has been in the army, he must have some bad habits :-P

So, $4,44 in my pocket...

Superstitious: you need to choose a lucky charm (can be anything that you carry with you and you think brings you luck). Let me know your choice.

In addition, you have the following superstitions:

* You always wear different colored socks on each foot

* You never put your hat on a bed, as you might be seriously injured or killed

* You think breaking a mirror causes seven years of bad luck

Skills: there are a few that are missing:

rope use 2BP => not that important, you are not a cowboy really
Riding 4 BP => maybe it would be good to know how to ride a horse, just in case
Observation 7BP => OK you can get by without this one
Language (Indian) 6BP => maybe you do not speak Choctaw language?
Culture (Choctaw) 2 BP => or do not know about the culture

Maybe remove Survival (9BP) and take Riding (4)+Culture (2) and with 3 remaining BP purchase maybe Swimming (1BP) and something that costs 2 BP (Rope Mastery or Sleight of Hand for instance).

Also I thought about putting your Native Culture as Choctaw, but your Native Language English. So you would understand the culture, but not speak the language as you were raised with the idea that you had to return to the "white people".

Please confirm skills  (the BP cost is spot on by the way), and then we can move to weapon(s) and gear.
