WOW!! You´re a star Malken! Earlier this month I had bought Judas Crossing, but lucky I did not spend any more at that time. For just 22$ I now a full collection of Aces and Eights books.

Thanks again

Cool, it's a nice deal. I was tempted myself but my reading queue is already too long :)

Guess Mayer's sticking with Crowe as Lucas told him.

OK, scene is almost over! I´ll open a new one for Mayer & Crowe shortly. This has been one of the most challenging scenes I´ve ever done. But, it was worth it to get you three finally to share some "screentime" :) I really like the way you each bring your characters history and feelings into the conversations without giving away too much, or when you make a simple conversation into something much deeper than the words spoken. That, to me, is in the very essence of a western.

Here, the difficult part for me was to find a way to introduce the general feeling in town, close some secondary plots (Registrar´s Office, Sinta) and to establish the mood and focus for the main characters. And I didn´t want to do this with many small individual scenes, and more importantly, I wanted to avoid the feeling of railroading or to make you feel as bystanders. I wanted to try to tell part of the story through the eyes of the NPC. This was something I had never done before, but when I sat down to prepare the scene, I thought about how I would like to see it play out in a film and it all made sense in a way.

Anyways, glad to be back after some tough weeks of work. And this scene should have ended before the break as there was very little more to add. It´s not always about the big showdowns and epic finale, sometimes a simple character building or intimate scene can make the pieces click into place.

Thanks again for a great scene. Keep it up! If you wish to write something more the scene is still unlocked. I´ll prepare the new ones shortly.

I think it was a great scene. I liked how you built the tension using the NPCs, and it was really useful to get the general feeling of the town, the people and the atmosphere, and how the situation is affecting them.

The meeting was pretty cool. Hurd's position was kinda weird, and I had some trouble to make him an active part of the scene while keeping in character. But that's something that comes with this kind of characters anyway. In the end I think it went quite well.

Now back to my farm. Good luck with those civilians, fellas, don't be too hard on them :)

Thanks for the feedback Malken. It would be nice to be able to see/read the game just as one player instead of seeing the whole story all the time. I guess you feel the opposite :) When it´s finished, I´ll open it all for you as a VIP and you´ll see what I mean.

I have closed the scene and posted the aftermath, and in Casting you have the BPs to improve skills etc.

One thing guys... If you get your hands on A&E material, like the bundle Malken mentioned... Just wanted to let you know I have been considering running another Wild West game after this one. More specifically, I wanted to write something based in a town, a bit like Deadwood (the series) but with a different angle. That´s why I got "Judas Crossing". It has some great mechanics for towns and factions and random events etc.

I ain´t making any promises yet, but if I do set up a game, and if you wish to participate, having read the source material could be a problem.

Hey Tingwe, sorry for being inactive but some stuff came up and I've been (and am) super busy. I'll post as soon as I can, but that might not be until the weekend. After this week (hopefully), things should get back to normal.

The substitute player for Choctaw had not entered Umbria for nearly two months, and this week he deleted his account. Happens often with new users, a shame because he seemed to be enjoying the game and I liked his posts.

So, we are officially down to 6 players for the remainder of the story. At this stage, so close to the final scene(s), it does not make much sense to look for replacements.

The story is unfolding in a way that will require probably 3 more scenes that will happen simultaneously, and 1-2 final scenes (maybe one big final scene and an epilogue scene to tie things up). I´m not in a terrible hurry to finish the game in a rush, I´ve enjoyed it greatly so far and I want to try to finish it properly to complete the small stories so (hopefully) it all makes sense XP

Please let me know if you cannot post at any time so I can adjust the scenes accordingly.

No probs, now that you mention you could interpret the scene as over hehe. I always confirm when a scene if finished thoug.

There is no big rush, post when you can, the pace is slower in general nowadays.

Sorry for the lack of regular posting lately guys. It´s been hectic at work, and this week I have an assignment to finish by Saturday.

It´s a bit frustrating not to be able to write now, since the story is getting to some crucial points and scenes where important choices are made. One of the key elements I had in mind when I started this was that your choices and actions define you. In a way, the focus of the story is on characters like Hurd, Crowe and Mayer, who define themselves (eg. start at point A and end up at point B) throughout the story by their actions and how they face the things that happen around them. On the other hand, Maddox, Choctaw, Ryan, Vern Adams, Dekker and Lucas are much more defined, or it is more difficult for them to change who they are. They are more predictable in a way.

Sorry for disappearing for so long without any warning, but as I (think I) said, I recently moved to London. And what does that mean? Problems with your mobile operator when you go back to Spain for holidays... :)

Anyway, I'm back and ready to roll again, starting today!
